Chelsea Filmmakers Alex Gibney and Gregory Jacobs at the Venice Biennale

Greg Jacobs' The Laundromat and Alex Gibney's Citizen K bring buzz to the Venice Film Festival.

The Laundromat, directed by Steven Soderbergh and produced by Greg Jacobs, is what Variety calls "a tongue-in-cheek lecture — a kind of sardonic meta analysis of our corruption as acted out by a handful of its players and pawns." Citizen K, in Gibney's own words to The Washington Post is "a call to citizens to understand power and its abuses and do what they can to ensure that power resides in the hands of the people."

Chelsea rounds out its creative presence at Venice, with Lisa Mehling serving as Executive Producer on Lauren Greenfield's Kingmaker which made its premiere and went on to Telluride.
