Boo! David Gordon Green's Halloween Creeps Into Theaters Worldwide, Breaks Box Office Records.

October 19th, 2018 - David Gordon Green's highly anticipated Halloween has finally arrived.

Halloween is set 40 years after Carpenter’s original and finds Jamie Lee Curtis reprising her famous role as Laurie Strode, who once again must come face to face with the serial killer Michael Myers.

The film has already received critical acclaim, and debuted #1 at the U.S. Box Office after earning over $77.5 Million in its' first weekend. This breaks the record for second biggest October opening of all time, as well as the biggest opening of all time for a horror movie with a female lead.

Green has pulled off what he set out to do, tying up the mythology that Carpenter and company established, while delivering plenty of fresh suspense - and grisly-creative kills.

The movie builds and becomes relentless. Maybe you can't go home again, but in the age of fanboy auteurs, you can go back to Haddonfield.

This slasher movie reboot for the #MeToo Era is the trick-or-treat frightfest you've been waiting for, highlighted by Jamie Lee Cuirtis in a savage roar of a performance in the role that made her a star. You'll scream bloody murder!

[It] faithfully adopted much of what so resonated in Carpenter's genre-creating film -- the stoic killer, the gruesome executions, the suburban nightmares -- what makes his Halloween such a thrill is how it deviates from its long-ago predecessor.

“The original is all about tension. Laurie Strode doesn’t even know that Michael Myers exists until the last minutes of the movie,” says Green's co-writer on the film and longtime collaboratoer, Danny McBride. “So much of it you’re in anticipation of what’s going to happen and the dread that Carpenter spins so effortlessly in that film, I think we were really trying to get it back to that. “We’re trying to mine that dread. Mine that tension and not just go for gore and ultra-violence that you see some horror movies lean on.”
